Construction on Phase 1 of the San Pedro Creek Improvements Project is now underway. To accommodate the project’s underground utility work that is currently taking place, please be aware of possible lane closures and road detours if traveling downtown near the construction area. Current Closures

  • Camaron Street from Houston Street to the Santa Rosa Street bridge is closed. All intersection street crossings are open. Vehicular traffic is allowed to cross Camaron Street at Travis Street.
  • One lane of North Santa Rosa Street from the tunnel inlet to Martin Street is closed.
  • Pedestrians should follow detour signage along Santa Rosa, Travis, Martin, Kingsbury and Flores streets.

Construction Notes

  • The Sundt-Davila Joint Venture team will continue setting rock veneer between the tunnel inlet and Santa Rosa Street bridge.
  • Crews will backfill the channel walls between the tunnel inlet and the Santa Rosa Street bridge.
  • Construction teams will continue forming and pouring concrete for footings and walls along the project limits.
  • Crews will form and pour concrete for the cascada pilot channel between the tunnel inlet and the Santa Rosa Street bridge.
  • Work on the north side of the Santa Rosa Street bridge will begin.
  • The team will re-grade the slope and clean the channel bottom along the east side of the channel between Santa Rosa and Martin streets.
  • The team will continue pouring concrete for the bioswale walls between Santa Rosa and Martin streets.
  • Crews will begin to backfill the bioswale outside of the channel walls between Martin and Travis streets.
  • The SDJV team will begin forming and pouring concrete for the crest gate foundation between Martin and Travis streets.
  • Construction crews will install electrical and irrigation sleeves in the lower walls of the Travis Street gatehouse.
  • The team will continue to form and pour concrete for the lower walls of the Travis Street gatehouse.
