Construction on Phase 1 of the San Pedro Creek Improvements Project is now underway. To accommodate the project’s underground utility work that is currently taking place, please be aware of possible lane closures and road detours if traveling downtown near the construction area. Current Closures

  • Camaron Street from Houston Street to the Santa Rosa Street Bridge is closed. Vehicular traffic is allowed to cross Camaron Street at Travis Street.
  • The westbound lane of Houston Street from Flores Street to South Laredo Street is closed.
  • One lane of North Santa Rosa Street from the tunnel inlet to Martin Street is closed.
  • Pedestrians should follow detour signage along Santa Rosa, Travis, Martin, Kingsbury and Flores Streets.

Construction Notes

  • The construction team will continue pouring concrete to form the planters and fountain feature at the tunnel inlet.
  • Excavation of the west retaining wall between Santa Rosa and Martin Streets will continue.
  • Construction crews will continue installing storm water drainage infrastructure between Santa Rosa and Martin Streets.
  • The team will install sheet pile walls between Santa Rosa and Martin Streets.
  • Temporary soil nail walls will be installed on both sides of the creek channel between Martin and Travis Streets and the west side of the channel between Travis and Houston Streets.
