Community engagement plays a prominent role in the planning, design and construction of the San Pedro Creek Improvements Project. Beginning in 2014, a series of public workshops were held to ensure community input was collected and incorporated into the project design. Now that the first phase of the project is under construction, community meetings continue and quarterly construction tours are held to help keep the public informed and to provide opportunities to ask questions and provide feedback to the project team.

The San Pedro Creek Citizens Advisory Committee consists of a dedicated group of citizens representing the interests of neighborhoods, businesses and cultural and historical resources near the project. Led by co-chairs Jerry Geyer and Michael Cortez, the committee convenes monthly to receive updates on the San Pedro Creek Improvements Project and provide input to the project team. These meetings are open to the public, and meeting presentations are available for review on this webpage following each monthly meeting.

The San Antonio River Authority also provides ongoing updates on the San Pedro Creek Improvements Project to the Bexar County Commissioner’s Court and the San Antonio River Authority Board of Directors.

Open and transparent dialogue with the community is a cornerstone of the San Pedro Creek Improvements Project.
